Firefighters, paramedics, and specialists
from South Trail Fire and Rescue District,
six other Lee County fire districts, the Lee County Division of Public
Safety, the Lee County Sheriff's Office, and K-9 search teams comprise the Southwest Florida Urban Search and Rescue
(USAR) team. Designated as Task Force Six by the State of Florida, SWF USAR
FL-TF6 is trained to respond to local, regional
,
and state
disasters such as hurricanes, bombings, floods, and tornadoes.
The
South Trail Fire and Rescue District, fire districts in Bonita Springs,
Estero, San Carlos Park, Iona-McGregor, Fort Myers Beach, and Lehigh
Acres, as well as
Lee County Division of Public Safety and the Lee County Sheriff's Office provide SWF USAR FL-TF6 with personnel and
financial support for specialized training and equipment.
The following
South Trail Fire & Rescue personnel are members of SWF USAR: Battalion
Chief Jody Payne, Lieutenant Steve Mozes,
Engineer Cindi Flerx,
Engineer Cliff Linzalone, Engineer Lazaro Llerena,
Engineer Matt Thunell,
Firefighter Chris Armiger, Firefighter Robert Feliciano, Firefighter Matt Seneca, and PIO Christie Knudsen.
SWF USAR FL-TF6 specializes in confined space, trench,
swift water, low/high angle rope, and structural collapse rescues.
